I’m Sick Of Hearing About Identity Theft!

“We need to find a way to put an end to identity theft! I had some man come to my door looking for someone named “Bill Stewart.” Who is using my address? He didn’t believe me that there is no Bill Stewart at my home. He treated me like a criminal. Also, a few years ago someone charged my credit card over $5000.00 in charges. My brother in law got served papers that he had to sign for. They were from a loan company demanding payment for his new Harley, and then 2 days later another bill for a different Harley. When is America going to solve this identity theft problem? I don’t want a chip implant. Would fingerprints or an eye scan be just as bad?”

The following question ( I’m Sick Of Hearing About Identity Theft! ) was submitted by a reader and here is my response…

The only way to end identity theft would be if everyone protected themselves with a solid identity theft protection plan. It really is as simple as that. Of course “simple” doesn’t mean that this will happen because there are too few people that take this threat seriously. Sadly, that means identity theft will probably be with us for a very long time.

Unfortunately as long as there are criminals out there, identity theft will be around. I can relate to your problem. I’m having a similar problem now. Someone used my last name, gave my address and phone number and I’m assuming charged all kinds of stuff. Collection agencies keep calling me and asking for this person. When I tell them there is no one by that name living here, they act like I’m lying to them. I try to explain to them that someone must have gotten my name out of the phone book and is using my info. They continue to be rude, and most of the time I have to hang up on them. So, yeah, as long as there are crooks out there, a lot of us are going to have problems. Also…someone in Malasya was using my credit card. Charged $1500.00 on it before the credit card company called me. I don’t use my credit cards very often, so when they saw those charges they called me right away.
